Book Blogger Friday – Lisa from Lisa’s World of Books

Indie Book Promo  would like to welcome Lisa aka Lisa’s World of Books to the blog. We at IBP want to introduce authors to book bloggers. Remember from last week, this introduction to Lisa is not an invitation to pepper her with review requests. It is, however, an encouragement to go visit Lisa! She’s cool and has a very cool blog. Feel free to stalk her – leave her a comment to say hi! I hope you enjoy learning about Lisa and return every Friday to learn about a new book blogger – remember……Make Some Bloggy Friends!

IBP – Introduce yourself and your blog

Lisa – Hey Everyone!  I am Lisa from Lisa’s World of Books.  I have been blogging for about 18 months and have enjoyed watching my little blog grow.  I am also an assistant for Bewitching Book Tours which has given me even more opportunities to have author stop by for a visit and learn about the industry.  Besides myself, I am lucky enough to have my husband, David, to review for me and occasionally my boys who are 10 and 11.   Oh and you will find penguins galore around my blog because I LOVE THEM!

IBP – Do you see yourself as a voracious reader?

Lisa – Yes, I do but I do go through lots of phases.  I have months were I get to tons of great books and then other than the end comes and I cannot figure out why my count is so low.  I read a huge range of books so that makes it interesting as well.  Phases, that seems to be my story.

IBP – How long have you been blogging?

Lisa – Oops, I kind of answered this above but I will give you some more details here.  I have been blogging since November 2010.  I think that I have posts from before them but I don’t consider them the beginning.

IBP – What made you decide to start book blogging?

Lisa – I had been following  a lot of blogs and found a book blog one day.  I have always been an avid reader and LOVE to share my thoughts on books with others.  While I have a few friends who read and we chat about them I wanted to have a place where I could share my thoughts whenever I wanted so my blog was born.

IBP -  What genre(s) does your blog focus on?

Lisa – A huge variety!  I do not focus on one thing in particular.  I read and review what I like and what those in my life enjoy.  One day it might be YA, the next Fantasy, the next middle grade and then romance.  You never know what you might find on my blog.  That being said I mentioned phases above my review tend to be that way. Lately, Contemporary Romance has been my draw.  Waiting on some Fantasy reviews from my hubby then you will see those.

IBP – Has your reading tastes changed since you started your blog?

Lisa – I would say that they have expanded.  I have found that I really enjoy YA and that I can read outside my normal and really enjoy them.

IBP -  Do you post reviews on your blog?

Lisa – Yes, I am not as good as many people are about having a schedule so reviews get posted when I get them up.  I do try to have at least one a week.

IBP – How many review requests do you get each month on average?

Lisa – Oh wow, great question.  This one had me going to look at my inbox to see if I could figure it out.  I would say that I get between 5-15 a week so whatever that equals to for a month.

IBP – Do you have a Review Policy or something similar?

Lisa – Yes, I do have a review policy though I find that many do not check it out.  I listed some very specific genres that I do not review yet still get requests for them.  I do not do Horror.  I would never sleep again.  Well, that could be good I could read all the time :)

IBP – Do you review Indie or Small Pub books?

Lisa – Yes, I do review both.  I am selective when it comes to my reviews.  I want to be sure that a book is something that I would enjoy before I agree to review it.  In some cases, I will offer to do promo for a book rather than reviewing it if it is something that I know that is not a match for me.  I still want to help :)

IBP – Do you host guest posts or interviews?

Lisa – Yes, I host both guest posts and interviews.  I love doing these, they are always a lot of fun.

IBP – What information do you require when an author approaches you?

Lisa – Please provide title of book, genre, author name, a brief description of book. Also, please include a link to your website and any information you would like for me to know.

All queries should be submitted to lisasworldofbooks@charter.net

IBP – How can we stalk you?
